  • Being a place of education, the initial start of the project was during the six weeks summer holidays, and we aimed to have a lot of progress reached before the rest of the site became live with student and teacher traffic.
  • Whilst milestones were reached the project was still ongoing throughout the academic year, this required carful and clinical collaboration with the client to minimise and disruptions.
  • Successfully working alongside our client during a school term involved meticulous planning, transparent communication, and a commitment to minimizing disruptions to the academic environment. Prior to initiating the project, we thoroughly understood the school’s schedule, including exam periods, holidays, and special events. Clear communication channels were established with school administrators, teachers, and staff, ensuring that everyone was informed about project goals and timelines. Flexible scheduling allowed us to undertake potentially disruptive tasks outside of regular school hours, and for more independent tasks, we considered working during weekends or holidays. We implemented noise and disturbance management strategies, including the use of noise reduction measures and strategic scheduling to minimize disruptions during classes. Ensuring the safety of students and staff, we adhered to safety regulations for any construction or maintenance work.
  • With residential areas surrounding the facility and a neighbouring nursery, it was vital we made ourselves available and approachable for any concerns or queries parties may have.
  • We established a robust Communications Plan and Stakeholder map from the outset; this included identifying all dependencies for programme communication between our delivery team and residents. For example, we had to know residents’ schedules and access patterns for some communal areas.

Project 2 Royal south hants hospital (Southampton)

Value £500,000.00

Scope: This specific project was to be enrolled on the entirety of the royal south hants hospital in Southampton. Covering all 2,500 windows and 10 external access doors. These works included going behind the window installation company and installing Kingspan insulation board with associated timber for the PVC window board installation. Once that element was complete our on site carpenters with years of experience and knowledge began to fit the MDF mullion surrounds, using sausage adhesive and finish it off with a smart, neat mastic seal to match the mullion frame.

This project was delivered with 0 complaints from the client, and only issue was being to quick where operatives had to be pulled of site for installations ahead of us to make up milage. These stats were obtained during a live working hospital, and really makes us at MBS proud and confident in delivering works throughout the commercial sector.

The key to this project was being consistent, making sure we didn’t have to re visit areas as there were nurses, patients and doctors in these live working areas. All cutting and scribing was done In the basement to minimise noise, dust and disruption.

But it still didn’t stop us from reaching milestones when estimated and like always delivering the fine installations, safely. Other than the physical installation aspect, our project manager and team of installers, operated two seven and half tonne deliveries a week, distributing all into the correct units ready for installation.
